Employees Are Unhappier than Ever - Now’s the Time to Show Appreciation
Employee morale is getting worse. BambooHR® has used its database of employee Net Promoter Scores® to rank job satisfaction by industry in their article The Great Gloom.
Here are some of the gloomy figures from BambooHR and Gallup:
BambooHR says since 2020, employee happiness has steadily decreased at a rate of 6%.
Even worse, 2023 employee happiness declined 10x faster than the previous three years.
Gallup’s July 2023 survey shows job satisfaction has dropped by 8% since 2019.
Employee happiness is down. But employment isn’t declining. This means competitors are actively recruiting out of your personnel. Standing out in this job market means offering more than just a paycheck. You need to show people they’re appreciated.
Implementing an appreciation program encourages a culture of recognition in the workplace. When employees feel their work is appreciated, they are more engaged.
