Six Reasons to Recognize

Recognition is important. For employees, workplace recognition is more just a pat on the back but can be crucially important to their happiness. People who don’t feel appreciated are more likely to look for a new job in an organization that does recognize their people. In fact, companies with recognition programs in place experience 31% lower voluntary turnover.

Managers often find recognizing employees challenging. Few are ever trained on using recognition to show appreciation or even what to recognize. The Incentive Research Foundation’s “What to Appreciate” infographic shows six reasons to recognize employees.
