Remote Acts of Kindness
This year, we celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week from February 14-20. Like many holidays, we’ve had to adjust how we celebrate to fit our now primarily virtual work lives. While we can’t bring treats or hold the door open for our coworkers right now, it’s still important to spread a little kindness, one act at a time. Here are some ways you can put smiles on your coworkers’ faces when you can’t be together.
Give them a shout-out
Working remotely might not be a breeze for every person if they have to juggle work and distractions at home. Recognizing your coworkers for their hard work despite new challenges is sure to make their day just a little easier. Post a shout-out through a company message board or set up a quick video call to show your gratitude.
Send a physical letter
In a time when we rely so heavily on email to communicate with one another, a piece of mail that isn’t digital might be well appreciated. A greeting card can be used to thank a coworker or just to send a hello and well wishes.
Buy them coffee or lunch
Just because you’re not physically together doesn’t mean you can’t feel like you are. If you know where your coworker usually gets their cup of joe or their lunch, make their day by buying them a virtual gift card. Take it a step further by setting up a virtual lunch and take the time to catch up.
However you choose to spread kindness this week, we hope you’re inspired to continue doing so every day!
